Best Reds Day Tour
The appellations of Chinon, Bourgueil and Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil produce what are arguably the Loire Valleys finest red wines. Located to the west of Tours, this is Cabernet Franc country par excellence and guests have the opportunity to taste a wide selection of them, often accompanied by local delicacies. We concentrate on small, family wineries, often with hundreds of years of wine production behind them.
Lunch is taken in the medieval city of Chinon after a stroll through its ancient streets. A guided tour of a local chateau - Chinon, Langeais, Azay-le-Rideau or Villandry - is an optional extra. For those who wish to continue exploring the wines of the region, further treats are in store including wine from vines over 100 years old.
